The subjects punished are: Le Duc Truong (born in 1977, residing on Van Mieu Street, Chi Lang Ward, Lang Son City, Lang Son Province) and Hoang Van Tinh (born in 1992, residing in Lang Khoac Village, Bang Mac Commune, Chi Lang District, Lang Son Province).

Each case was fined 17.5 million VND for illegal trading and transportation of forest products. All exhibits were confiscated and processed according to regulations.
Previously, on April 2, on Provincial Road 293 in Bac Giang City, Bac Giang Provincial Police stopped and inspected forest products on a truck with license plate 12H-025.75, driven by Mr. Hoang Van Tinh. The inspection results revealed that Mr. Tinh was transporting nearly 2 tons of rosewood without documents proving its legal origin. During the investigation and verification process, the authorities discovered that Mr. Le Duc Truong was the owner of the forest products.
The infringing evidence is a species of rosewood (scientific name Dalbergia cochinchinensis) with a total volume converted into round wood of more than 1.8 m3. Of which, round rosewood, quantity 9 pieces, volume 0.18 m3; rosewood has a complex, inconsistent shape, the wood cannot be measured in size, total weight 1,621 kg (converted to more than 1.62 m3 of round wood).
It is known that rosewood belongs to the list of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals in group IIA, stipulated in Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021 of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 06/2019/ND-CP on management of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals and implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
