A group of young authors (aged 14-27) recreated the Cu Chi Tunnels in the Mini World game. |
Inspired by the movie "Củ Chi Tunnels: Dark Sun," the Mini-Dev group (the collective name for the creative players in Mini World), including Nguyễn Tuấn Tiến (1994), Trường Giang (2006), Hoàng Nhân (2011), and Mini Cá (2007), spent approximately three consecutive weeks "drawing" a map of the special military structure of the Củ Chi Tunnels using the language of online games. Mini World is an online game for players aged 9 and above.
To ensure the details on the map accurately reflect reality, the team consulted numerous official sources. Team leader Nguyen Tuan Tien also visited the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site (Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City ) to tour, photograph, and document each passage, each tunnel, and each stage of the resistance war.

According to Nguyen Tuan Tien, one of the purposes of recreating the Cu Chi Tunnels in the game is to help young people who haven't had the opportunity to visit them in person or aren't old enough to see the famous "Cuu Chi Tunnels" movie to explore and learn about the structure, function, and stories of the tunnels in a realistic and vivid way using technology.
With the help of creative tools in Mini World, the team recreated the spaces of the underground tunnels such as the war room, bunkers, shelters, infirmary, food storage, weapons depot, along with familiar wartime items: the Hoàng Cầm stove, radio, pith helmet…

Interactive games make history lessons more engaging. |
Beyond just a model, the map also integrates interactive games such as answering historical questions, searching for items, and completing quests based on clues, allowing players to experience, reminisce, and remember in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Specifically, after completing the "Cu Chi Tunnels - Following the Dawn" journey, the player will move on to a new map, also created by the Mini World community, showcasing other famous landmarks across Vietnam. This is the humanistic message the young creators want to convey: after the darkness of war comes the light of peace, where the beautiful country is developing day by day and continuing to write new chapters of history.
Immediately after its launch on April 30th, the "Cu Chi Tunnels - Following the Dawn" map in Mini World attracted over 14,000 visitors and 3,500 downloads in the first 12 hours. Hundreds of comments and shares on digital platforms showed enjoyment, support, and even profound emotions.

Recognizing the significance of the project and its positive impact, Mini World Vietnam quickly promoted it on its official media channels, organizing a variety of activities including task-completion challenges, photo check-ins, and gift exchanges… as a way to accompany young people on their journey of discovering and honoring history.
The Mini-Dev team's project is a clear testament to the abundant creativity and sense of responsibility of today's young generation in many fields: knowing how to appreciate the past and convey profound values using the voice and tools of their time. Born and raised in peace, having access to and being a part of the rapid development of science and technology, young people do not forget history but are striving to contribute to revitalizing the lessons of the past, so that Vietnamese history and spirit become a natural flow in modern life.
