The United Nations Day of Vesak is a major event of global Buddhism, attracting the participation of delegates from 85 countries and territories. This is an occasion to honor the life and teachings of the Buddha, spreading the spirit of peace, solidarity and cooperation among peoples around the world . The festival lasts until May 8, with the main theme: "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development". This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted this meaningful international religious event.

The 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak contributes to affirming the accompanying role of religion in the journey of building national unity and national development, marking an event honoring Buddhist traditions and human cultural values.
