Participating in the final round at Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen (China), the Vietnamese delegation with 3 teams of 9 students won First Prize in the Cloud Track content, Second Prize in the Computing Track content and Third Prize in the Network Track content - a record achievement after 3 consecutive years participating in this global playground.
The Vietnamese team won all 3 awards in the Global Final round of Huawei ICT Competition 2024 - 2025.
The Huawei ICT Competition 2024 - 2025 attracted more than 210,000 students and lecturers from over 2,000 colleges and universities in over 100 countries and regions. After national and regional qualifying rounds, 179 teams from 48 countries entered the Global Finals, competing in multiple categories over four consecutive days, from May 21 to May 24.
In the final round lasting 8 hours, teams competed in three categories: Cloud Track, Computing Track and Network Track, requiring in-depth knowledge, solid practical skills and teamwork. In particular, candidates had to master specialized tools such as Huawei Cloud and eNSP simulation software to solve real-world problems.
Participating in all three competitions, the Vietnamese teams achieved impressive results:
First Prize in Cloud Track: Student Bui Quoc An - Academy of Cryptography Engineering; Dau Van Khoa - Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Tran Hai Dang - University of Technology, VNU-HCM.
Second Prize in Computing Track : Mai Thi Phuong and Nguyen Tu Kien - Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Duong Van Hiep - FPT University Hanoi.
Third Prize in Network Track: Le Nhu Quynh and Dinh Hoang Anh - Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Nguyen Le Hong Khanh - Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The Vietnamese team won second prize in the Computing Track category.
This is the first time Vietnam has won all three awards in one season, surpassing previous years' achievements with the third prize in Cloud Track (2022 - 2023) and Network Track (2023 - 2024), affirming the capacity of Vietnamese students in the global knowledge arena.
Sharing after the contest, student Dinh Hoang Anh, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology said: "This is a useful playground, helping me learn new technology, practice thinking and practical skills as in a real working environment. The contest also opens up opportunities for international exchange, an important stepping stone for my future career."
Vietnam team won third prize in Network track.
Mai Thi Phuong, a student at the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, also expressed: "I am very honored and proud to represent Vietnam in the competition. Even more special, I am one of two female members of the participating team. I feel responsible for inspiring female students in the technology industry. I realize that Vietnamese students are fully capable of competing with other students in the international arena."
Launched in 2015, the Huawei ICT Competition has become an annual global event for students majoring in information technology. The competition is constantly updated with new technology trends such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence.
Mr. Ritchie Peng - Director of ICT Strategy and Business Development at Huawei emphasized: "We built the competition to promote learning and innovation among young people globally. In particular, the Practical Competition is in line with Huawei's vision of 'Intelligent World 2030' by encouraging students to master cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence technologies to promote social progress. The Innovation Competition focuses on green development and digital inclusion, motivating students to solve real-life challenges in the fields of agriculture , healthcare and education through information technology."
