According to the report, in the first 5 months of the year, the relevant sectors and authorities have detected and handled 306 violations, including: 166 cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods; 135 cases of trade fraud and tax fraud; 05 cases of counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights. The total amount of money collected for the state budget reached over 2 billion VND. In addition, competent authorities have prosecuted 62 cases with 91 defendants involved.
Discussing at the Conference, members of the Steering Committee raised a number of difficulties in the fight against smuggling, especially in the e-commerce environment, when tracing the origin of goods is still limited. At the same time, they contributed ideas to the Draft Plan for the peak period to increase the effectiveness of the fight in the coming time.
Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 highly appreciated the results achieved in the first 5 months of the year by the standing agency and localities in the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, and infringement of intellectual property rights in Bac Kan province.
He requested the standing agency to promptly complete and issue a peak plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations; strengthen coordination; promote propaganda in many forms to raise people's awareness of the harmful effects of counterfeit and poor quality goods.../.
