Latest durian price news
Vietnam has made significant progress in restoring and expanding its durian export market to China thanks to its continuous efforts to meet the importer’s strict quality standards. Recently, China has granted an additional 829 growing area codes and 131 packing facility codes to durian production areas in Vietnam, bringing the total to 1,396 growing area codes and 188 packing facility codes permitted to export to this market. This is an important milestone, affirming the position of Vietnamese durian in the international market.
To achieve this, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has closely coordinated with the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection and related units to develop synchronous solutions. These solutions focus on meeting China's requirements on food safety, plant quarantine and traceability systems. Thanks to that, Vietnamese durian products have met export standards, creating the premise for expanding the scale of official exports.
Durian producing localities, especially in the Central Highlands and the South, have actively implemented quality control measures. Farmers, cooperatives and exporting enterprises are required to strictly comply with technical production regulations, ensuring that no preservatives or chemicals are used in excess of permitted levels. By June 2025, through a rigorous inspection process, many production facilities and enterprises had met the standards, with no violations recorded from Chinese importers.
The development of the durian industry not only reflects the efforts of the authorities but also demonstrates the determination of local governments and people to improve product quality. With new growing area codes and packing facilities, Vietnamese durian has a great opportunity to consolidate its position in the Chinese market, while affirming its superior quality in the global market.
