
My Thai commune is a commune along the Thuong River in Bac Ninh province with an area of 46.63 km² and a population of over 46,400 people. Since October 8, the first water leaks through the dike were discovered by the authorities and people of My Thai commune.







By the evening of the same day, the underground water level had caused the dike to collapse by about 20 meters while the Thuong River reached its historic flood peak after heavy rains from storm No. 11, threatening the lives and property of more than 100 households in Duc Tho village living inside the dike area. The battle against floods by the government and people of My Thai commune officially entered its peak.






Participating in flood prevention on Thuong and Cau rivers in Bac Ninh province in recent days, the Provincial Military Command has mobilized more than 1,000 regular soldiers, more than 17,000 militia and self-defense forces, 7 rescue boats, 16 specialized vehicles along with supplies, vehicles and equipment to respond to and overcome the consequences of floods in communes and wards in the province.
Along with that, the army forces coordinated with the police force and local forces to urgently evacuate people and property from flooded areas to safe places; actively participated in supporting the transportation of food and essential goods to isolated households; participated in dyke protection, flood prevention, helping people harvest rice and crops to harvest, limiting damage caused by storms and rains.
