Bac Ninh leads the country in export turnover for the first time

Bac Ninh's export turnover reached over 48 billion USD in 7 months, ranking first in the country for the first time. From now until the end of the year, Bac Ninh aims to attract an additional 6 billion USD in investment capital.

On the afternoon of August 15, Bac Ninh province held an investment promotion conference and awarded the decision approving the investment policy, investment registration certificate and started construction of the Social Housing Project for Workers.

In the first 6 months of 2025, Bac Ninh's GRDP (gross regional product) is estimated to increase by 10.47%, reaching a scale of over 9.5 billion USD; the economic structure continues to shift positively with nearly 90% coming from industry - construction and services.

In particular, the province's export turnover reached more than 48 billion USD in the first 7 months of the year, for the first time rising to the top of the country.

With more than 2,800 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects and a total investment capital of about 45 billion USD, Bac Ninh ranks second nationwide in attracting FDI. The province is currently home to the headquarters and manufacturing plants of many large technology corporations in the world such as Samsung, Foxconn, Canon, Amkor, Hana Micron, Goertek... and is gradually becoming a strategic destination for the global semiconductor industry.

At the conference, the leaders of the Central Government and Bac Ninh province granted investment registration certificates to 9 FDI enterprises and 7 domestic enterprises; adjusted capital increase for 9 FDI enterprises; and granted 7 decisions approving investment policies and 12 decisions selecting investors outside the industrial park. Notably, 2 enterprises committed to increase total investment capital by 300 million USD.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh expressed his pleasure to represent the Government in attending the Conference - an event of special significance, taking place in the context of us heading towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, and right after the merger of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, opening a new, strong and aspirational development period; saying that the awarding of certificates to investors at the Conference is a promising start, affirming the business community's confidence in the investment environment, potential and development vision of Bac Ninh province.

Choosing Bac Ninh as a destination is a very wise decision of investors because Bac Ninh has many strengths, potentials, advantages, an important position in the key economic region of the North, the space and development potential of Bac Ninh is very open, the transport infrastructure system is diverse and synchronous. In particular, Bac Ninh has a very developed industrial planning with more than 50 industrial parks and 20 industrial parks are in operation, investors have come here to invest in more than 2,800 projects with a total investment capital of about 45 billion USD.

"I hope that the projects that are granted certificates and investment decisions today will be quickly implemented; all commitments of investors will be quickly implemented so that in a short time, all projects today will become reality," the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister expressed.

Bac Ninh provincial leaders awarded the decision to select investors to enterprises to implement urban area projects in the province.

Receiving the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, said that the highlight of this investment promotion is the diversity and breakthrough in the field of investment attraction. In addition to high-tech and semiconductor projects, which are strengths, Bac Ninh also expands into services, entertainment, and ecological urban areas, contributing to promoting comprehensive development.

From now until the end of the year, Bac Ninh aims to attract an additional 6 billion USD in investment capital. It is expected that by 2025, the province's total budget revenue will reach 66,000-68,000 billion VND.

The Chairman of Bac Ninh province emphasized that the orientations outlined by the Deputy Prime Minister will be an important basis for the province to build a long-term development vision, while completing the report and action program for the 2025-2030 term, with a spirit of drastic, effective and substantive action.
