Dan Tri newspaper readers "support" 10-year-old boy taking care of bedridden grandmother

(Dan Tri) - At only 10 years old, Vu The Bao has to take care of his bedridden grandmother and younger sibling. Sympathizing with his situation, readers of Dan Tri newspaper have donated more than 193 million VND.

Nearly four months after the story about Vu The Bao, 10 years old, in Hong Son village, Thang Binh commune, Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province was published in Dan Tri newspaper, we returned to visit and present a plaque symbolizing the amount of 193,044,628 VND from readers to his family.

All of the money donated by readers mentioned above has been transferred to the situation by Dan Tri newspaper.

Little Bao lit incense on his grandfather's altar and told him about our visit. He shared: "Since Dan Tri Newspaper helped me, I have money to make offerings to my grandfather, pay for school fees, buy medicine for my grandmother, and milk for my younger sibling. I thank Dan Tri Newspaper very much!"

Mr. Trinh Dinh Hao, representative of Bao's family, expressed deep gratitude to Dan Tri readers for their concern and support for the family.

"Everyone's affection for the family is extremely precious. The kindness of Dan Tri readers has helped Bao have money to eat, study, take care of his bedridden grandmother and 3-year-old sister," Mr. Hao said emotionally.

Mr. Hao said that in early October, Mrs. Trinh Thi Huyen, Bao's grandmother, had another stroke and had to be hospitalized overnight. Thanks to the support from readers of Dan Tri newspaper, the family does not have to worry about the cost of Mrs. Huyen's treatment.

Mr. Le Xuan Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Binh Commune, expressed his gratitude to Dan Tri Newspaper and other donors for understanding and sharing Bao's difficult situation. He said that after Dan Tri Newspaper published the appeal, teachers at Thang Binh Primary School also supported Bao with one million VND per month for one school year.

"In the long term, we will work with family representatives to plan spending and open savings accounts for the three of us," said Mr. Hoa.

Bao was born into a pitiful situation, never knowing his father, and his mother had disappeared. He grew up in the love of his grandparents. Bao's grandmother had suffered a stroke a long time ago, and the burden of making a living fell on her husband, Mr. Trinh Van Trinh.

Unfortunately, last May, Mr. Trinh had an accident and passed away. After his grandfather passed away, Bao, although still young, took on the responsibility of burning incense, preparing offerings for his grandfather, and taking care of his bedridden grandmother and his 3-year-old sister.
