On the afternoon of June 23, the Party Committee - Command of the Border Guard of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces held a conference to hand over the Border Guard Command of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces to the Border Guard Command (under the new Military Command of An Giang province). According to the decision of the Ministry of National Defense , Colonel Tran Quoc Khanh was appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Border Gate Department of the Border Guard; Colonel Pham Van Thang was appointed to the position of Deputy Commander of the Military Command of An Giang Province (new), concurrently Commander of the Border Guard Command of An Giang Province (after the merger); Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Hiep (Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of An Giang Province) held the position of Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of An Giang Province (new), concurrently Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of An Giang Province (after the merger).
