Handing over the duties of Commander of the Provincial Military Command

On the afternoon of December 27, the Provincial Military Command held a conference to hand over the duties of Commander of the Provincial Military Command between Major General Nguyen Van Xuan and Colonel Dang Quoc Dong.

Attending the conference were comrades: Duong Van An, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee; Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Major General Tran Van Bac, Commander of Military Region 2; Major General To Quang Hanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 2; Tran Viet Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Implementing decisions on personnel work, Comrade Nguyen Van Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, was assigned by the Prime Minister to hold the position of Deputy Commander of Military Region 2 and promoted to the rank of Major General by the President. Colonel Dang Quoc Dong, Deputy Commander of the Yen Bai Provincial Military Command, was assigned by the Minister of National Defense to hold the position of Commander of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Military Command.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An congratulated the two comrades on their new assignments. He commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of comrade Nguyen Van Xuan during his tenure as Commander of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Military Command, who, together with the Provincial Military Command, led and directed the provincial armed forces to successfully complete local military and defense tasks, and to build an increasingly strong Party organization in the armed forces.

Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An hopes that with the trust of the Military Region 2 Command, Comrade Dang Quoc Dong will continue to promote the achievements of the Provincial Military Command, build a united collective, advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee to lead, direct, and well implement local military and defense tasks.

The Provincial Party Secretary believes that Major General Nguyen Van Xuan and Colonel Dang Quoc Dong, regardless of their positions, will always promote their qualifications, abilities, and the 80-year tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, and excellently complete their assigned tasks.

At the conference, delegates witnessed Major General Nguyen Van Xuan and Colonel Dang Quoc Dong sign the task handover minutes.
