The incident occurred as Mr. Trump was speaking to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House, before boarding the Marine One helicopter to Pittsburgh. During the conversation, the cameraman suddenly zoomed in on his right hand, where he was clearly wearing makeup. This detail seemed to be used to hide an injury or bruise.

A day earlier, when Mr. Trump hosted the Crown Prince of Bahrain at the White House, the layer of makeup on his hand was also clearly recorded under the lights and camera lens.
