Journalism is the bridge connecting life

BDK - The 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) is an opportunity for journalists to look back on the glorious journey that the revolutionary press has gone through. This is also an opportunity for organizations and individuals who have been associated with and accompanied the press to express their gratitude and emotional sharing. Sharing from representatives of organizations, associations, businessmen, and fellow countrymen of the province has shown the indispensable role of the press in today's social life.

The Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and the Provincial Children's Rights Protection organized a delegation to visit and give gifts to victims of Agent Orange.

Accompanying businesses

According to Chairman of the Provincial Business Association Tran Van Duc, in the development process, the business community of the province as well as the whole country always highly appreciates the accompanying role of the press. As a representative of the provincial business community, Mr. Tran Van Duc emphasized that the press is an effective bridge to help businesses promptly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. Not only simply reporting news, the press also promptly reflects the difficulties and advantages in each stage of development, contributing to orienting and promoting production and business activities.

“We acknowledge the great contributions from press agencies. In particular, Dong Khoi Newspaper and Ben Tre Radio and Television have regularly reported on business activities, shared difficulties, and spread the benefits. From there, we have created a more favorable investment and business environment for businesses,” Mr. Tran Van Duc emphasized.

According to Mr. Tran Van Duc, the support of the press is an inseparable part of the development journey of the business community. The press not only supports information but also builds trust and encourages the spirit of those who are striving in the market.

Spread good values

Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa said: The press is not only a means of propaganda but also an indispensable companion in the journey of spreading good living values. In recent times, the press system has contributed a lot to the Women's Union at all levels in propagating and spreading good actions and positive values. That is the foundation for a more and more developed and perfect society.

Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa especially acknowledged the positive and proactive changes of the provincial press in the face of the wave of technology and the need for innovation. The forms of print, radio and television newspapers have all been strongly developed in the online community and social life. She is very excited about that remarkable development.

According to Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa, the press and the union will continue to work more closely together in the coming time to effectively carry out political tasks, contributing to the common goal of the province: Socio-economic development, improving the quality of life; in which, women always play a central role in spreading love, sharing and innovation.

Bond of love

35 years since its establishment, the Ben Tre Compatriot Liaison Committee in Ho Chi Minh City has always been a support for those who live far away from home, wholeheartedly turning to their homeland. In that journey, the press has always accompanied and contributed to spreading meaningful programs bearing the mark of Ben Tre.

Deputy Head of the Liaison Committee of Ben Tre Compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City, Doan Hoang Hai, shared: Programs such as "Gratitude of the Coconut Land - Aspiration to Reach Far" held at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater and in the province all have great contributions from the press. Thanks to the press, images and messages of love are widely transmitted, connecting compatriots, friends, businessmen, and philanthropists everywhere.

Not only connecting domestically, the press also helps spread the image of Ben Tre to the Vietnamese community abroad. The information and images transmitted by the press have contributed significantly to gathering forces and mobilizing resources to support social security activities in the homeland.

“More than 210 billion VND to support social activities and the strong response from people far from home all have the silent mark of the press. That is the sharing, the motivation to help the Liaison Committee of Compatriots to fulfill its mission of connecting, showing gratitude and affection to the homeland of Ben Tre”, Mr. Doan Hoang Hai emphasized.

Bridge of compassion

Chairwoman of the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and Protection of Children’s Rights of the province Vo Thi Thuy said: For those doing humanitarian work, the press is not only a channel of information but also a “bridge of compassion”, connecting those in need with those who want to help. “We operate mainly by mobilizing resources from the community. To make people understand, sympathize, and accompany us, we must rely on the press,” Ms. Vo Thi Thuy expressed.

According to Ms. Vo Thi Thuy, the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and Protection of Children's Rights of the province has 3 areas of content that always need to be communicated: Introducing difficult circumstances, promoting exemplary association officials and praising sponsors. All have been enthusiastically supported by the provincial press. Thanks to that companionship, the mobilization results of the following year are always higher than the previous year. In the first half of 2025, the association mobilized over 37 billion VND, far exceeding the annual target of 20 billion VND. That success is largely due to the efforts of the press team.

For us, those who are working in journalism, 100 years - a century of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism is a journey of ideals, dedication, responsibility and patriotism. The press does not stand outside of life, but has become an inseparable part in the development of organizations, associations, businesses and communities. The sincere sharing of organizations and individuals accompanying the press today is a profound affirmation: Vietnamese revolutionary journalism is forever the light of trust, of the people, for the people.
