Ensuring three successes of the signing ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime

The signing ceremony of the Convention affirms the international community's trust in Vietnam's capacity, commitment and responsibility in addressing global non-traditional security challenges.

On the morning of August 6, in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security , Head of the Steering Committee for the preparation of the organization, Head of the Security and Order Subcommittee for the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (Convention opening ceremony) chaired a conference to assess the preparation for the organization and ensure security and order for the signing ceremony of the Convention.

Attending the Conference were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang; functional units of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Cyber Security Association.

At the Conference, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung emphasized that the signing ceremony of the Convention is an important international event, affirming the international community's trust in Vietnam's capacity, commitment and responsibility in addressing global non-traditional security challenges.

The Conference is held to review and assess the progress of preparations for the signing ceremony of the Convention and to ensure security and order.

On that basis, identify tasks and solutions that need to be focused on and implemented in the coming time, ensuring the organization of the opening ceremony of the Convention signing solemnly, professionally, securely and safely.

At the Conference, representatives of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention and Control (Standing Committee for the preparation of the organization), leaders of the Ministry Office (Standing Committee for Security and Order Subcommittee) presented a report on the progress of the preparation for the organization and ensuring security and order for the opening ceremony of the Convention signing.

Under the direction of Deputy Minister Pham The Tung and Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang, functional units of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and the National Cyber Security Association focused on discussing and clarifying the situation, achievements, difficulties, obstacles, and recommendations and solutions to speed up the preparation work for the organization and ensure security and safety of the Convention signing ceremony.

After the discussion, Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang spoke and directed a number of issues related to the preparation for the Convention signing ceremony.

Concluding the Conference, Deputy Minister of Public Security Pham The Tung, Head of the Steering Committee, Head of the Security and Order Subcommittee of the Convention signing ceremony, requested the members of the Steering Committee to unify their awareness of the significance and importance of organizing and ensuring security and order, identifying this as an important political task of the entire political system from now until the end of the event, in which the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are the core.

The members of the Steering Committee made worthy contributions to ensure that the Convention Signing Ceremony achieved comprehensive results, ensuring three successes: success in content; success in ensuring security, safety, and respect for protocol and diplomacy; success in promoting the image, identity, country, and people of Vietnam and international friends.

The Steering Committee members highly promoted their experience in organizing and ensuring security and order at recent international conferences, especially the recent P4G Summit, resolutely implementing measures to ensure absolute security and safety, to avoid sudden or unexpected incidents, and to avoid even the smallest errors, contributing to the successful organization of the Convention Signing Ceremony./.
