Before this tournament, Sohu newspaper had an article assessing the strength of the participating teams. In it, this newspaper considered U22 Vietnam as a formidable opponent for the host China. This newspaper commented: "The Panda Cup friendly tournament brings together very strong teams such as U22 China, U22 Vietnam, U22 Korea, U22 Uzbekistan.

This is not just a normal friendly tournament but an important test for young Chinese players. Over the years, Korean football has always been the standard for youth training in Asia. Uzbekistan has achieved remarkable results. Meanwhile, Vietnamese football has made great strides. Therefore, U22 China will have to face a huge challenge.

The physical and technical style of U22 Korea always poses a great threat to U22 China. The Uzbekistan players, with their superior physical strength and strong tactical discipline, are truly tough opponents. Meanwhile, U22 Vietnam has made rapid progress thanks to their quick counter-attacking style and flexible movement.

Looking back at last year’s Panda Cup, China U22 was not really impressive but the players still showed commendable fighting spirit against opponents from Mongolia, Australia and Kyrgyzstan. China U22 only finished third in that tournament but the experimentation and potential of the players planted the seeds for the future of Chinese football. This year, China U22 faces an even bigger challenge.”

According to the Panda Cup 2025 schedule, U22 Vietnam will face host U22 China in the opening match on November 12, then meet U22 Korea on November 14 and meet U22 Uzbekistan on November 18.
