7 Gold medals are the achievements of the Vietnamese shooting team at the 31st SEA Games held at home in 2022. The 32nd SEA Games in 2023 in Cambodia will not have a shooting event. One difficulty for the Vietnamese shooting team is that at the 33rd SEA Games, the Organizing Committee cut many of Vietnam's strong events, including the men's 50m pistol and air rifle.
However, the Vietnamese shooting team still showed great determination and practiced hard at the National Sports Training Center.
The Vietnamese shooting team will compete in 21 out of 22 events of the 33rd SEA Games. 20/22 events are in the competition program of the International Olympic Committee.

In 2022, at the 31st SEA Games, Quang Huy contributed to the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol team event. In 2025, at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship, Quang Huy won the Gold Medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event with Trinh Thu Vinh. Trinh Thu Vinh is another hope. At the 2024 Olympics, Thu Vinh will become the first Vietnamese shooter after Hoang Xuan Vinh to reach the finals at an Olympics.
At the 2025 Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan, she won a Bronze medal in the women's 25m sport pistol event.
