On May 21, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam signed and issued a plan to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the new situation within the scope of the ministry's tasks.
Focus on testing fake and toxic food
According to plan, from May 15 to June 15, the ministry will conduct a peak inspection of products and goods under the ministry's state management.
The focus of inspection is on food safety, fake, toxic food, food of unknown origin; aquatic products, forestry products; production and trade of fake plant varieties, livestock, fertilizers, and pesticides;
Check the use of growth stimulants for fruit products; the excessive use of chemicals to increase weight and prevent dehydration after thawing to deceive about the volume and reduce quality.
The Ministry will conduct inspections in key localities with complicated developments and frequent incidents of the above-mentioned inspection focus.
At the same time, inspect the implementation of local agricultural and environmental authorities on the prevention of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights related to the inspection content.
Inspect individuals and organizations that produce, trade, import and export forestry and aquatic products, produce and trade fake plant varieties, livestock, fertilizers and pesticides.
Leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will inspect anti-counterfeiting work.
According to the plan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will organize working delegations of the ministry to work with localities in key areas.
It is expected that there will be 2 working delegations of the ministry, led by the ministry's leaders, working with a number of provinces and cities on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.
Specialized departments, according to their assigned tasks, develop plans and organize inspection teams, mainly in the form of surprise inspections, to detect and strictly handle violations by individuals and organizations.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also requested to strengthen state management in production, business and use of agricultural materials, chemicals and additives.
At the same time, deploy comprehensively, continuously, and relentlessly with the motto "handling one case, alerting the whole region, the whole field", "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
In this plan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment assigned the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection to issue a plan and organize inspections to implement the peak month of fighting against and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods.
Focus on checking the production and trade of fake plant varieties, fertilizers, and pesticides; control the use of growth stimulants for fruits; use of banned chemicals, chemicals not listed (focus on yellow O in durian).
