On the evening of January 4, information from Yen Bai Provincial Police said that this agency has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and order the temporary detention and emergency search of Mr. Ngo Quoc Truong, Deputy Director, former Chief Inspector of the Department of Transport of Yen Bai province and Mr. Doan Viet Hung, Inspector of the Department of Transport of Yen Bai province, for the crime of " abusing position and power while performing official duties", stipulated in Clause 3, Article 356 of the Penal Code.

According to Yen Bai Provincial Police, after the People's Procuracy of the same level approved, the decisions and prosecution orders were served and executed, and the two above-mentioned defendants were temporarily detained for a period of 4 months.

Yen Bai Provincial Police said that this case is under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity of Yen Bai Province.

Defendant Doan Viet Hung

Initially, Yen Bai Provincial Police determined that Mr. Truong and Mr. Hung committed crimes from 2017 to 2021. At this time, Mr. Truong was the Chief Inspector of the Yen Bai Provincial Department of Transport, and Mr. Hung was the Inspector Accountant of this department.

Yen Bai Provincial Police are expanding the investigation into the case to clarify the behavior of the defendants and related people for handling according to regulations.

At the same time, Yen Bai Provincial Police are applying regulations to thoroughly recover lost and misappropriated assets.
