Ben Tre records Covid-19 death

According to the Ministry of Health 's announcement on the Covid-19 epidemic, today, May 25, the country recorded 1,174 new Covid-19 cases. Since the beginning of the epidemic, the country has had more than 11.6 million Covid-19 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,304 cases/million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.

Health departments reported that on May 24, 439 more patients were declared cured. Since the beginning of the epidemic, nearly 10.637 million Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been cured.

On May 24, a Covid-19 death was recorded in Ben Tre . Since April, 16 Covid-19 deaths have been recorded in the country in various provinces and cities.

At treatment facilities, 70 patients are on oxygen. Of these, 58 cases are on oxygen through masks, 9 cases are on high-flow HFNC, 2 cases are on non-invasive ventilation, and 1 severe case requires invasive ventilation.

The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam since the beginning of the epidemic is 43,206 cases, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths in our country ranks 26th out of 231 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories.

Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths in Vietnam ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; the number of deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.

Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 24, an additional 16,392 doses were administered. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 266.4 million doses have been administered nationwide. Of these, more than 223.73 million doses were administered to people aged 18 and over, nearly 24 million doses were administered to children aged 12-17, and more than 18.7 million doses were administered to children aged 5-11.
