Debrecen is the dream of many Vietnamese students. Currently, there are a number of Vietnamese students studying bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs at Debrecen University, under the Hungarian Government Scholarship Program.
KT, 19, a female international student studying in her first year of business data analysis at Debrecen University with a scholarship from the Hungarian Government, said that the necessary and sufficient conditions to be accepted for this scholarship are very strict. One of the necessary conditions to apply for this scholarship is that candidates must pass and complete the first year of study at a public university in Vietnam, with good academic results. Although studying entirely in English, students must also have good Hungarian skills.
All students studying abroad with the Hungarian Government Scholarship Program are required to take two basic Hungarian language courses. If they fail these two courses, they will not be allowed to retake the exam, and their scholarship will be terminated and they will be forced to return home.
