On March 7, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong said that the department's leaders had a meeting with the investor and representative of the board of directors of DNA International General Hospital (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) after hearing the Department Inspectorate report on the results of the re-inspection at this hospital.
After a working session with the investor and the representative of the board of directors of DNA International General Hospital, the department's leaders requested that the hospital strictly comply with regulations on indications and advertising related to blood filtration techniques.
Previously, on March 5, the Department of Health established an inspection team to re-inspect and verify the contents related to the advertising content of "high-tech blood filtration technique to remove blood fat and reduce the risk of stroke", "high-tech blood filtration to prevent dangerous diseases, live a healthy life with peace of mind" of DNA International General Hospital.
When accessing the hospital's website and Facebook page, the Department Inspectorate noted that these pages all said "under maintenance".
When asking the hospital's board of directors about the information reflected by a number of agencies, units and press agencies (according to the official dispatch of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management), the inspection team received the answer that the old advertising information had been previously punished by the Department Inspectorate and was no longer advertised.
However, at the meeting between the leaders of the Department of Health with the investor and the representative of the hospital's board of directors a day later (March 6), the hospital's leaders admitted to the advertising violations and promised to immediately stop the illegal advertising.
At this meeting, the department requested the hospital's board of directors to review and re-examine medical records with a diagnosis of acute pancreatitis and an indication for dialysis.
Was fined for advertising violations related to dialysis
DNA International General Hospital is licensed by the Ministry of Health to operate medical examination and treatment and the Ministry of Health has approved the list of specialized techniques for DNA International General Hospital.
In particular, the hospital was approved for the technique of "plasma exchange in the treatment of acute pancreatitis due to hypertriglyceridemia". The hospital was granted a certificate of advertising content by the Ministry of Health on 2 websites: https://benhvienquoctedna.vn; https:www.facebook.com/benhvienquoctedna.vn, including the content "Plasma exchange in the treatment of acute pancreatitis due to hypertriglyceridemia".
It is known that this hospital was previously fined by the Ministry of Health Inspectorate and the Department of Health Inspectorate for advertising violations related to dialysis in 2022 and 2023.
Will check treatment regimens at hospitals that implement blood filtration techniques
The Director of the Department of Health added that in the near future, the department will organize a scientific seminar on blood filtration and plasma filtration indications with the participation of experts in endocrinology, nutrition, and resuscitation.
At the same time, inspection teams will be organized to inspect compliance with treatment regimens of hospitals with a list of blood filtration techniques.
