Bich Dam fishing village is located on Hon Tre island cluster, more than 8 nautical miles (about 15 km) northeast of Nha Trang coast. To reach this fishing village, visitors can go from Phu Quy residential port, take the only boat departing at 11 am every day, the journey is about 1 hour 30 minutes with a cost of 30,000 VND/person.
In the middle of Nha Trang Bay, Bich Dam appears like a peaceful green area.

Peaceful green area
The name Bich Dam comes from the emerald green sea water that surrounds the fishing village all year round. With more than 200 households and 855 people, the people here live mainly on fishing and aquaculture, of which seafood exploitation accounts for 60%.
Hon Lon Lighthouse was built in the late 19th century and is one of the oldest lighthouses in Vietnam.

The special attraction of Bich Dam is the combination of natural landscape and unique historical relics. As soon as arriving, visitors will admire the Bich Dam communal house relic with a 150-year-old banyan tree 21 m high, recognized as a Heritage Tree in June 2024.

In addition, the village also owns Hon Lon lighthouse, built in 1890 - one of the 5 oldest lighthouses in Vietnam, located at an altitude of more than 100 m above sea level. To reach the lighthouse, visitors must trek about 1.5 km through the mountain with a trail covered by natural tree canopy.
People here live mainly by fishing and aquaculture.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuy, Head of Bich Dam Residential Group, said: "There are many historical and cultural relics for tourists to explore such as Bich Son Pagoda, An Thanh Temple, Ong Lon Palace, beautiful beaches and the traditional profession of making snail blinds."
Bich Dam Communal House is a provincial historical and cultural relic ranked in 2012.

Pioneering community tourism model
In early March 2025, the People's Committee of the old Nha Trang City officially approved Bich Dam to become a green and sustainable community tourism destination. The Bich Dam Community Tourism Management Board was also established, marking an important turning point for the fishing village.

Ms. Duong Thi Tho, Head of the Women's Association of Bich Dam residential group, shared: "Every day my family welcomes 1-2 groups of visitors. Fresh seafood such as shrimp, fish, and squid are all available on the island. Reasonable costs, peaceful space, simple but delicious dishes have made many tourists come back."

Visitors to Bich Dam can stay with local families for 100,000 VND/night, enjoy special noodle soup for only 20,000 VND/bowl, participate in activities such as fishing nets, and learn about the unique craft of making snail blinds of the locals. However, the fishing village currently has no national grid electricity, mainly using generators and solar energy.

Mr. Truong Dinh Vinh, Head of Bich Dam Community Tourism Management Board, said: "In the coming time, the board will launch specialized teams such as transportation team, culinary team, and rescue team to ensure synchronous services."
Bich Dam has many beautiful rocky beaches. Here visitors can admire many large and small islands in Nha Trang Bay.

The development of the community tourism model in Bich Dam not only brings new livelihoods to the people but also contributes to preserving the unique cultural and historical values of the fishing village in the middle of Nha Trang Bay, aiming at the goal of sustainable development associated with the conservation of the marine ecosystem.
