World Menstrual Hygiene Day, celebrated annually on May 28th, is an event aimed at raising awareness about the importance of ensuring menstrual health and hygiene for all women and girls.
The event aims to mobilize global voices and actions from government agencies, non-profit organizations, the private sector, media outlets, and everyone to make the sensitive topic of menstruation commonplace and eliminate taboos and stigmas surrounding it in society by 2030.
The communication activities in response to World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024 included various contents such as sharing knowledge and skills on menstrual hygiene management through musical performances, folk dances, and humorous skits; sharing effective and practical solutions and initiatives for managing menstrual hygiene; and interacting through quizzes and games with the audience at the event and at various locations nationwide.
Through communication activities aimed at spreading the message: Let's act together to create a world where women and girls have full access to information, education, facilities, and services related to clean water and sanitation to ensure safe personal hygiene.
