Ministry of Public Security: Deeply reduced 27.2% of social order crimes compared to the same period

(Chinhphu.vn) - The national police force has ensured social order and safety, significantly reducing social order crimes (down 27.2%) compared to the same period in 2024.

On the afternoon of October 6, the Ministry of Public Security held a press conference to announce the situation and results of all aspects of public security work in the third quarter of 2025.

More than 32,000 criminals were handled in the third quarter.

The Ministry of Public Security said that in the third quarter of 2025, the results of all aspects of national security protection, ensuring social order and safety, and building the People's Public Security force continued to maintain positive momentum.

The police force has absolutely protected the security and safety of more than 1,500 activities of Party and State leaders, international delegations, important events and major national holidays.

Social order and safety were ensured, with many positive changes, resulting in a sharp reduction in social order crimes (down 27.2%) compared to the same period in 2024. More than 8,500 social order crimes were investigated and discovered , more than 17,600 subjects were arrested and prosecuted; 690 wanted subjects were arrested, persuaded to surrender, and eliminated.

The police force has arrested more than 7,500 cases, more than 14,700 drug offenders; seized more than 93 kg of heroin, more than 271 kg of marijuana, more than 776 kg and more than 293,000 synthetic drug pills. Continued to detect and investigate many economic crimes and corruption in key economic sectors. Accelerated the investigation of cases and incidents under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Monitoring and Directing cases of public concern.

6 key tasks in the fourth quarter

The Ministry of Public Security's forces will focus on a number of key tasks: Focus on grasping, assessing and forecasting the situation closely, promptly advising the Party and State on policies and solutions to ensure security and national interests.

Absolutely protect the safety of key targets, projects, important political, cultural and social events of the country; international delegations, international conferences held in Vietnam; activities of Party and State leaders. Deploy preparations, ensure security and safety for the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi.

Focus on ensuring security and order, drastically implementing solutions to control and reduce crimes related to social order; achieve the target of 20% of communes, wards and special zones being drug-free by 2025; strengthen the work of ensuring order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting.

Focus on implementing tasks of science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation under the direction of the Central Government.

Speed ​​up the progress of drafting legal documents in 2025, especially laws submitted to the National Assembly at the 10th session.

Resolutely implement Resolution No. 12 of the Politburo, build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern public security force to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
