VHO - Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon, at the People's Committee headquarters of Pho Chau commune and every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at the yard of Pho Thanh Primary School No. 2, Duc Pho town ( Quang Ngai ), hundreds of students from grades 1 to 9 eagerly participate in martial arts lessons instructed by Border Guard soldiers.
Free martial arts class attracts more than 300 students
To help students at the station have a happy and healthy summer, the Sa Huynh Border Guard Station Youth Union (Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard) coordinated with the Pho Thanh Ward Youth Union, Pho Chau Commune Youth Union and schools to organize free martial arts classes for students.
Captain Le Quang Dao, Deputy Political Commissar , Secretary of the Sa Huynh Border Guard Station Youth Union, is the main teacher of the martial arts classes. He said that after planning to coordinate the opening of the class, parents registered more than 300 students from grades 1 to 9 to participate. Of which, Pho Chau commune has more than 100 students, Pho Thanh ward has more than 200 students. Every day, the brothers in the unit spend time teaching martial arts to the children. Although it is hard, the brothers are very happy because they contribute to bringing local students a useful summer.
“The martial arts class instructs students on formation, ranks, warm-up movements; introduces basic stances and movements and practices combinations of combined blows; introduces them to some weapons such as batons, sticks and 3 physical exercises of the border guards. Organizing free martial arts classes has created a healthy playground for children during the summer,” said Captain Dao.

Ngo Thanh Hien, a 6th grade student at Pho Thanh Secondary School, excitedly said that he really enjoyed participating in the martial arts class taught by the border guards. Learning martial arts is very good for health. Since the class opened, he has not missed a single class.
Through sports activities, help children understand martial arts, practice life skills, and develop independence. Limit the situation of students being drawn into social evils and prevent accidents and injuries during the summer. Mr. Do Quang Nghi, Secretary of the Youth Union of Pho Thanh Ward, said that Pho Thanh Ward is a coastal ward, with a potential risk of drowning for children in the summer. Therefore, through sports activities, help children understand martial arts, practice life skills, engage them in healthy activities, limit gathering to swim in dangerous areas, or excessive use of phones. The class went very smoothly, with enthusiastic support from the government and people.
