The TLN-3.5A military water filtration station was researched, designed, manufactured and installed on the Kamaz-4326 truck chassis by the Military Science and Technology Institute. The system is used to treat surface water (rivers, lakes, ponds, etc.), underground water from polluted impurities (dirt, color, odor, organic and inorganic substances, radioactive substances, toxins and pathogenic bacteria, etc.) into water for domestic use and drinking, meeting current national technical regulations. The system has an automatic and continuous operation mode with a filtration capacity of 3.5 cubic meters of clean domestic water/hour and 300 liters of purified water/hour, with a crew of 3 people.

Colonel Duong Nhat Dan said that clean water is a basic need of life, especially during floods. Understanding the needs of the people, the working group quickly mobilized to the planned locations and served the people with the spirit of "as long as the people come, the army will not rest". Therefore, the unit's water filtration stations operated at full capacity, providing clean water for daily use and purified water to the people in the area until about 1 a.m. on October 12, then continued to assign staff to maintain the water filtration system so that people could receive water from early morning.

Soldiers enthusiastically supported people in transporting water. |
“The weather is hot and humid, we are tired, but the people are excited and come in large numbers, lining up to receive water. We are also happy and more motivated to work. If there is any need, we are ready to move there. We want to contribute a small part to help the locality and people of Thai Nguyen province stabilize their lives soon,” Colonel Duong Nhat Dan emphasized.
On the morning of October 12, Ms. Pham Thi Cuc, a resident of Cao Son 3 Residential Group (Tan Trieu Ward) came early to get water. She said: “My family was flooded more than 2 meters deep. During the isolation period, my family received food and bottled water from the Tan Trieu Ward Military Command. However, we still have to take water from the rainwater reserve to meet our needs, while we have not been able to buy a new water purifier. When I received information that the army was bringing clean water to help the people, I was very happy to receive both clean water for daily use and purified water. I am looking forward to it! Thank you very much, soldiers!”

While waiting for the water to fill the tank, the working group also introduced the features of the TLN-3.5A Military Water Filter Station to the people. |
According to comrade Le Thi Oanh, Party Secretary of Residential Group 32 (Tan Trieu Ward), during the recent flood, 100% of households in the area were deeply submerged, leading to a serious shortage of clean water. Therefore, the Military Science and Technology Institute's dispatch of forces to bring clean water to the people was very timely. "The lake water after the flood was very turbid, but through the filter it became clear, drinking it felt like drinking bottled mineral water," comrade Le Thi Oanh shared.

It is known that many years ago, the Military Science and Technology Institute successfully researched and manufactured mobile water filtration vehicles and modular mobile water filtration equipment, ensuring the needs of a unit with a battalion-level military force. Through a survey, the Institute found that the need for mobile water filtration equipment for units throughout the army is urgent. This is the motivation for the Institute's scientists to spend time and effort researching, designing, and manufacturing suitable water filtration equipment with the aim of providing clean water for soldiers to use in training, exercises, combat readiness or performing tasks in remote areas...
