The Ministry of Transport requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to direct airlines to urgently research and develop exploitation plans and add aircraft to maintain the transport force.

The Ministry of Transport has just sent a document to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam regarding ensuring and maintaining the air transport force, after a number of Vietnamese airlines restructured, returned aircraft, and cut down on the operation of a number of routes.

Accordingly, domestic airlines including Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet , and Bamboo Airways are required to urgently research, develop exploitation plans, and add aircraft to ensure and maintain the transport force, especially during the April 30 - May 1 holidays and the peak summer period of 2024. At the same time, implement solutions to limit flight delays and cancellations.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam will support and encourage airlines to increase their operating capacity to meet people's travel needs and propose solutions to remove difficulties; strengthen inspection of transportation activities, passenger services, price declaration, price posting, and public information on airline ticket prices.

Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam focused on reviewing related plans and policies, organizing the implementation of measures to adapt to the actual situation, requiring domestic airlines to proactively plan operations and have backup plans to supplement the number of aircraft that are lacking due to flight suspension (plans to receive aircraft, wet lease aircraft during peak periods of Lunar New Year, summer peak, optimal calculation of engine operation plans due to expiration, etc.).

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in Vietnam, airlines Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet are using A321NEO aircraft that have recently been recalled for aircraft inspection and must stop operating in 2024 - 2025 (the time to stop the aircraft starts from January 2024).

Bamboo Airways also stopped operating the Embraer E190 fleet (3 aircraft) and stopped operating routes using this type of aircraft (Hanoi - Hue/Dong Hoi/Con Dao and Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Hoi/Con Dao) to restructure, cut costs, increase production and business efficiency, stabilize operations...

The above reality will directly impact the transport force, fleet size and supply capacity on domestic and international routes in 2024 - 2025.
