Appointment of 3 members of the Board of Directors of the University of Health Sciences

After one year of operation, the University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) has completed its Board of Directors with 7 members.

Today (July 17), the University of Health Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) held a ceremony to announce and award decisions to appoint the board of directors, including the principal and vice principal.

Accordingly, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang, Director of the Center for Research on Nano-Structured and Molecular Materials, was transferred and appointed to the position of Principal of the University of Health Sciences. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City National University also appointed Associate Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Vu Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, to the position of Vice Principal and Master Nguyen Hoang Dung, interim Vice Principal, to the position of Vice Principal of this university.

Professor Phan Bach Thang was born in 1979 in Thai Binh (now Hung Yen province). He received his PhD in advanced materials science and technology from Sungkyunkwan University (Korea) in 2009; he was appointed professor of physics in 2022.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Anh Vu Thuy was born in 1974 in Binh Thuan province (now Lam Dong province). He graduated as a dentist from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2000, successfully defended his doctoral thesis in dentistry at Tokyo University of Medicine and Dentistry (Japan) in 2011 and was recognized as an associate professor in 2018. In addition to regular training programs, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Thuy also completed the Inter-University Certificate (Diplôme Inter-Universitaire-DIU) in implant surgery, periodontology and prosthetics granted by Bordeaux University (France) in 2013. He also participated in specialized training courses at Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and Yonsei University (Korea) in oral pathology, periodontology and dental implant surgery.

Master Nguyen Hoang Dung was born in 1979 in Dong Thap. He graduated from the major of corporate finance at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in 2001 and received a master's degree in accounting and auditing at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in 2010.

Established in June 2024, the University of Health Sciences is the 8th member school of Ho Chi Minh City National University. After one year of operation, the school has completed its organizational structure. In particular, the school's Board of Directors currently has 7 members.

Specifically, Prof. Dr. Phan Bach Thang holds the position of Principal; Prof. Dr. Dang Van Phuoc holds the position of Honorary Principal. The Board of Directors also has 2 Vice Principals (Associate Prof. Dr. Pham Anh Vu Thuy and Master Nguyen Hoang Dung); 2 interim Vice Principals (Professor Dr. Le Minh Tri and Prof. Dr. Tran Quyet Tien); 1 concurrent Vice Principal (Associate Prof. Dr. Vo Thanh Toan is currently the Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hospital).
