Opening of Vietnamese language training course for Lao students for the 2025-2026 school year

Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2022-2026 between Quang Ninh province and 3 northern Lao provinces, on the morning of October 17, at Vang Danh ward, Ha Long University held the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese language training course for Lao students for the 2025-2026 school year.

Performance by Laotian students.

The training course is for 102 Lao students studying at Ha Long University. This is a vivid demonstration of the traditional and long-standing solidarity and cooperation between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos in general and between Quang Ninh and the three provinces of Luang Prabang, Hua Phan, Xay Nha Bu Ly in particular. During the course, teachers with professional experience in teaching Vietnamese to foreigners from Ha Long University accompany, guide and support Lao students to have the best learning and training process. Thereby, helping them not only learn Vietnamese, but also explore Vietnamese culture and people, and understand more deeply the solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.

After 11 years of construction and development, Ha Long University has affirmed its brand, position and prestige in the national university education system. According to the 2025 Vietnam University Rankings, Ha Long University is ranked 87th out of nearly 250 universities nationwide. Up to now, the University has 3 master's degree training majors, 25 undergraduate training majors, with a scale of more than 12,000 students. In addition, Ha Long University also trains Vietnamese for Lao students as assigned by the province.

After 13 Vietnamese language training courses, hundreds of Lao students have matured from Ha Long University, returned to their home country, continued to study, work, contributed to the development of their homeland and country, and nurtured the Vietnam - Laos friendship to be forever green and sustainable.

In recognition of the contributions of Ha Long University to the training of human resources for the three provinces of Northern Laos, the school was awarded the noble Labor Medal by the State of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. This award is not only an honor for Ha Long University but also a great recognition of the efforts and dedication of generations of teachers, staff and students throughout the journey of cooperation in training Lao students in Vietnam.
