Previously, at 5:00 a.m. on October 18, while performing the task of patrolling, controlling, protecting fishing grounds and combating illegal fishing (IUU) in the southern sea, Ship KN 201 of Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No. 2 received a signal requesting emergency assistance from fishing vessel BV 99368TS.

Immediately after receiving the information, Ship KN 201 deployed for rescue and after only 30 minutes of maneuvering, approached the fishing boat and brought the injured fishermen to the ship for emergency treatment.
The injured fisherman was identified as Mr. Dao Van T. (born in 1983, from Tan Hiep commune, An Giang province). When brought aboard the ship, Mr. T. showed signs of mild shock, high fever, pale face, and heavy blood loss due to 3 broken teeth, broken bones, a broken lower jaw, and a deep laceration on his left cheek. The cause of the injury was a hit to the face by a fishing line while he was collecting the net.
After receiving first aid and psychological reassurance from the medical team, the victim’s health gradually stabilized. By 7:30 a.m. the same day, the victim’s blood pressure and body temperature returned to normal.

Next, the medical team of Ship KN 201 provided medicine, medical equipment and instructed the captain of fishing boat BV 99368TS Dao Van Q. (born in 1973, from Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and 8 crew members on how to care for and bring the injured fishermen ashore for further treatment.
During the rescue mission, the fisheries control force also combined propaganda and dissemination of laws on combating IUU fishing, guided fishermen to fish in the right fishing grounds, gave leaflets and national flags, and encouraged people to confidently go out to sea and stick to the sea.
