On the afternoon of November 7, at the National Assembly House, under the chairmanship and direction of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung took the podium and answered many questions that are of interest to National Assembly deputies.
In response to the question of delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh - National Assembly delegation of Nghe An about the legitimacy of organizations on social networks, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that most of our organizations have a page on social networks and have a desire to become an official channel, through which to convey to a large number of people and demonstrate the prestige of the page.
Some major social media platforms have this feature available. For example, Facebook, when individuals or organizations provide complete information, after being verified, Facebook will issue an authentication mark, also known as a "blue tick". When social media users see the "blue tick", they will see the reputation of that organization.
However, not all social networks currently have the authentication feature available. “ Basically, by the end of this year, all major social networking platforms will have this function. The Ministry of Information and Communications will institutionalize this in a decree expected to be signed in the fourth quarter of 2023, Decree 72 ,” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung informed.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung answered issues of concern to National Assembly Deputies.
Also in the question-and-answer session on November 7, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung informed delegates about mobile coverage in remote, mountainous areas.
The Ministry of Information and Communications has directed network operators and Departments of Information and Communications to review each signal depression area, even in mountainous areas with only a few dozen houses, to cover each of these signal depression areas. To date, 2,100 signal depression areas have been covered and Vietnam's current 4G mobile broadband coverage rate is 99.8% of the population, while high-income countries average only 99.4%.
