The General Staff supported the construction of 15 houses of gratitude and solidarity in Nam Giang.

(QNO) - Towards the 80th anniversary of the General Staff's Traditional Day (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025), on the morning of June 13, the General Staff's working delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries, disadvantaged households and poor students who overcame difficulties in Nam Giang district.

Joining the delegation were Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan - Chief of Political Department of the General Staff; Major General Cao Phi Hung - Deputy Commander of Military Region 5; Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan; and representatives of the provincial Military Command.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army said that on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its tradition, the General Staff organized many activities to express gratitude to ethnic people across the country - those who have contributed to helping the force successfully complete its tasks through historical periods.

Notably in the series of activities, the General Staff supported funding for localities to build 80 gratitude houses and 80 solidarity houses. In Nam Giang alone, the General Staff supported the construction of 5 gratitude houses and 10 solidarity houses.

"Hopefully, the gratitude activities of the General Staff will accompany local authorities in taking care of meritorious people, policy beneficiaries and encouraging poor households to strive to escape poverty sustainably" - Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan emphasized.

Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan also requested the armed forces of Military Region 5 and the Quang Nam Provincial Military Command to continue to effectively implement the emulation movements "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses". Increase care and material and spiritual support for policy families and households in difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the General Staff presented 80 gifts to policy families, poor households and excellent students in Nam Giang district.

* In the morning of the same day, the delegation of the General Staff offered flowers and incense at the provincial martyrs cemetery and the monument to Vietnamese heroic mothers (Tam Phu commune, Tam Ky city). Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan also joined the delegation.
