Hoi An Youth Forum joins hands to protect the environment

Hoi An City Women's Union has just coordinated with the Center for Living and Learning for the Environment and Community (Live & Learn) and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize the forum "Hoi An Youth Join Hands to Classify Waste and Protect the Environment" in 2025.

This is an activity within the framework of the project "Green Citizen - Healthy City" chaired by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Nam and Live & Learn, in coordination with the People's Committees of Tam Ky City and Hoi An City.

Attending the forum were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Education and Training, Hoi An City Youth Union; women's associations at all levels and students from the communes and wards of Cam Nam, Thanh Ha, Minh An, Cam Thanh, Cam Kim; and women who collect scrap metal in the city.

At the forum, delegates learned and discussed the current situation of waste and waste management in Hoi An City; environmental protection activities of women's associations at all levels in Hoi An, especially the "green house" model and the movement to classify waste at source; and listened to sharing about scrap collection activities.

In addition, Hoi An students participated in discussions, exchanges, and proposed ideas revolving around more effective implementation of the 3R model (reduce - reuse - recycle) at schools and in each family; connecting young people with creative and sustainable waste classification and providing practical and effective support for scrap collectors.

The forum was organized to raise awareness among young people about waste management and environmental protection in the city. Thereby, mobilizing the active participation of young people in environmental protection, especially supporting waste management in Hoi An City and connecting with the scrap collectors - those who contribute to the collection, classification and recycling of waste.

At the same time, it creates opportunities for young people to promote their sense of responsibility, contribute ideas and propose environmental protection initiatives, especially in collecting and classifying waste at source, 3R and accompanying the implementation of the "green house" model of the women's association.
