Minister of Education and Training as Chairman of the State Council of Professors

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 300/QD-TTg dated April 11, 2024 to establish the State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term.

Accordingly, the State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term has an organizational structure, tasks, powers, and working principles according to the provisions of Decision No. 37/2018/QD-TTg dated August 31, 2018 of the Prime Minister promulgating regulations on standards and procedures for considering recognition of qualifications and appointment to the titles of professor and associate professor; procedures for considering cancellation of recognition of titles and dismissal of titles of professor and associate professor.

Also in the above Decision, the Prime Minister decided to appoint members to hold the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council as follows:

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Kim Son , Minister of Education and Training , holds the position of Chairman of the State Council of Professors for the 2024 - 2029 term.

Professor, Doctor, Academician Chau Van Minh , President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, holds the position of Vice President of the State Council of Professors for the 2024 - 2029 term, in charge of the group of natural sciences, engineering and technology.

Professor, Dr. Le Quang Cuong , former Deputy Minister of Health, senior lecturer at Hanoi Medical University, holds the position of Vice Chairman of the State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term, in charge of the health sciences group.

Professor, Dr. Hoang Van Cuong , 15th National Assembly delegate, former Vice President of National Economics University, senior lecturer of National Economics University, holds the position of Vice Chairman of the State Council of Professors for the 2024-2029 term, in charge of the group of social sciences and humanities, arts, and sports.

The Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Education and Training - Chairman of the Council to decide on the appointment of Council members and review and regularly adjust and supplement them annually according to regulations.
