( Bqp.vn ) - Following the second Vietnam - Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange in Sop Bao District (Houaphanh Province, Laos), on the morning of October 23, the Vietnamese delegation led by General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense ; the Lao delegation led by General Chansamone Chanyalath, Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense visited Pahang Primary and Secondary School and attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Border Guard Company 214 (Lao People's Army).

General Phan Van Giang was moved to receive the fresh flowers and red scarves from the students of Pahang Primary and Secondary School. General Phan Van Giang was delighted to see the students healthy, happy, active, studying and growing up in an environment full of love and care; local leaders and the School Board paid great attention and focused on propagating andeducating the students about the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos; teachers and students of the School have always overcome difficulties in terrain, weather, and facilities to spread knowledge and sow the seeds of the future.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that Houaphanh province in general and Sop Bao district in particular are lands rich in revolutionary heroic traditions, intelligence, resilience in combat, diligence, creativity in production, tolerance and humanity in community life. It is also on this land that the armies and people of Vietnam and Laos have stood side by side in the fight against colonialists and imperialists, gaining national independence, freedom and happiness for the people of each country.

On the same morning, attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Border Guard Company 214 (Lao People's Army) supported by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that Vietnam and Laos have a common border of more than 2,300 km. Over the past time, cooperation in border management and protection has been one of the bright spots, contributing to firmly ensuring political security and social order and safety in the border area, creating conditions for people on both sides to feel secure in trading and developing the economy.

With the desire to stand side by side with the Lao People's Army in general, and the Lao border management and protection force in particular, creating favorable conditions for border guards to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State, people and Army, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense supports the construction of the Border Guard Company 214 barracks and hopes that the project will be completed soon. General Phan Van Giang requested that during the construction process, the construction units strictly comply with technical requirements; mobilize maximum resources, equipment and workers to deploy construction items on schedule, ensure quality, and promptly meet the needs of use. "I believe that Border Guard Company 214 will continue to promote its revolutionary qualities and mettle, successfully complete the assigned tasks, and continue to be a solid bridge for the special relationship between the two countries and the two armies of Vietnam and Laos," General Phan Van Giang expressed.

The construction of the 214th Border Guard Company barracks is one of the typical projects that the two countries' Ministries of Defense have been cooperating to implement in recent times; it is a vivid manifestation of the solidarity and mutual support between the two countries and the armies of Vietnam and Laos.
