Typically, at 10:20 a.m. on May 13, 2025, Ms. NTM (1957), residing in Ninh Xa Ha village, Yen Ninh commune (Y Yen) came to the Yen Ninh Transaction Office of Agribank Y Yen Branch in a state of confusion and fear, constantly answering the phone while making transactions. She requested to withdraw 350 million VND from her savings book to transfer to an account according to the instructions of a person claiming to be an officer of the Ministry of Public Security about Ms. Minh's involvement in a fraud ring. During the conversation, this subject asked Ms. Minh not to contact and notify her family, to close the door and not to go out, the subject asked Ms. Minh to go to the bank to withdraw all the money in the savings book and transfer it to the subject with the reason to seal it and return it after verification and clarification. Noticing the unusual behavior of the customer, teller Ngo Thi Phuong skillfully chatted to find out more information. With extensive experience and high vigilance, Ms. Phuong quickly realized that this was a phone money transfer scam impersonating the police. She immediately reported to the branch leader and coordinated with the Yen Ninh Commune Police to intervene promptly.
