In the new period, when the society's requirements foreducation are increasingly high, when the 2018 General Education Program sets out comprehensive changes in teaching methods, learning methods, and assessment methods, the patriotic emulation movement is identified by the provincial Department of Education and Training as an important method for each school, each cadre and teacher to arouse the desire to contribute, the spirit of creativity, the sense of responsibility and a deep love for the profession.

Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh 's teaching "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", the Department of Education and Training has thoroughly grasped and concretized directives, resolutions, and policies on emulation and reward work into specific and synchronous action programs from the Department level to each educational institution. The emulation movement has been strongly implemented in conjunction with the reality of each locality, in conjunction with the tasks of the school year, with the requirements of school governance innovation, digital transformation application, and comprehensive improvement of education quality.

The movements and campaigns: "Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning", "Building happy schools", "Each teacher is a model of morality, self-study and creativity", "Good at school work, good at housework", "Green - clean - beautiful - safe school" have strongly aroused the sense of innovation and responsibility in the teaching staff. In many units, competition does not stop at "titles" but becomes an "individual" need and professional awareness. Competition targets are also clearly oriented and planned, linked to professional results, to the level of satisfaction of students and parents, to the implementation of digital transformation and innovation in methods.

From the emulation movement, a series of new models and good practices were formed and spread. School managers and teachers actively innovated teaching methods, applied information technology, designed digital learning materials, implemented STEM education, actively trained excellent students, supported weak students, and comprehensively developed students' abilities and qualities. The campaign "Every teacher is an example of morality, self-study and creativity" has spread widely throughout the industry, with many advanced examples appearing who are excellent teachers in terms of expertise, dedicated to students, have made great contributions to the quality of education, and have a positive influence on colleagues and the community, such as Meritorious Teacher Tran Thi Thanh Xuan, teacher Nguyen Van Huyen (Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted), teacher Tran Thi Lan Dung, Nguyen Khuyen High School ( Nam Dinh city); teacher Ngo Thi Hanh, Hai Van Kindergarten (Hai Hau)...

At all levels of education, each emulation movement has its own color, suitable to the characteristics of the level. The patriotic emulation movement of the education and training sector has become a driving force that actively contributes to innovation and improvement of the quality of comprehensive education. For many consecutive years, Nam Dinh has been one of the localities with the leading comprehensive education quality in the country. In the past 10 years alone, the province has had more than 700 students winning national prizes, many students winning medals at international Olympic competitions. Every year, the high school graduation rate is always over 99.8%. Most high schools have qualified teachers, and facilities are invested synchronously. These results are closely linked to the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements that have been maintained continuously, extensively and substantially in many areas.

By recognizing and honoring collectives and individuals with high achievements, the emulation movement has contributed to creating motivation to spread positive values ​​throughout the industry. Many good models and valuable initiatives in management, teaching and learning are typical examples and models for learning units such as: Rang Dong Primary School (Nghia Hung) is typical in management, teaching and learning; Dao Su Tich Secondary School (Truc Ninh) with the image of teachers and students who are typical examples of innovation, creativity, overcoming difficulties and dedication; Nguyen Khuyen High School, Tran Hung Dao High School, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted... are bright spots in key education, innovation in teaching methods, application of digital technology and staff development.

To create motivation to promote the movement, the commendation is carried out by the Department of Education and Training in a public, transparent manner, focusing on quality. The criteria for selecting emulation titles and forms of commendation are adjusted to suit practical requirements, aiming to honor creativity, innovation and dedication. In addition to the titles awarded by the State, the entire Department of Education and Training of the province also organizes flexible forms of commendation such as honoring outstanding teachers, excellent students, leading professional groups, and at the same time encouraging schools to organize commendation in flag-salute ceremonies, semester and school year summaries. Communication work to spread typical examples of dedicated teachers, students overcoming difficulties, and creativity is promoted in the press system and social networking platforms, etc. Thereby, creating a positive effect, spreading love for the profession, love for people, contributing to fostering confidence and strongly inspiring students, parents and the whole society.

In particular, in the new period, when education is shifting strongly to developing learners' qualities and capacities as the goals set out in the 2018 General Education Program and Resolution 29-NQ/TW; digital transformation, application of artificial intelligence and new forms of learning are posing urgent requirements. The education and training sector has promoted digital transformation, innovated assessment tools, increased the use of technology in management, teaching and learning... through school management with software, using LMS systems, applying artificial intelligence in testing and assessment, building open learning materials, developing E-learning lectures... The above activities are all promoted, stemming from the spirit of emulation, creativity, daring to think, daring to do of collectives and individuals in the whole sector. Many scientific research topics have been registered and actively implemented in schools, contributing to solving specific problems, close to the reality of each locality and each group of students, typically the secondary schools: Tran Dang Ninh (Nam Dinh city), Nguyen Hien (Nam Truc), Dao Su Tich (Truc Ninh); high schools: Nguyen Khuyen, Tran Van Lan, Le Hong Phong specialized (Nam Dinh city)...

The patriotic emulation movement of the provincial education and training sector with practical, creative and effective methods has been creating a foundation for education and training in Nam Dinh province to continue to develop sustainably in the period of integration and innovation.
