The project, with a total investment of 18 billion VND, is managed by the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Construction and constructed by Brigade 384, Army Corps 12. It aims to prevent and mitigate landslides, ensuring the safety of residents in the affected area, and also prevent further landslides along Hung Vuong road in Khe Sanh commune.
Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, Quang Tri province, in coordination with the 4th Military Region Command, Brigade 384 - 12th Army Corps, the Provincial Military Command, and Division 968, mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers along with numerous vehicles and equipment to urgently carry out the construction, determined to complete the project by December 31st.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Phan Phong Phu, Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, requested the Department of Construction and the consulting, supervision, and construction units to uphold a high sense of responsibility, mobilize maximum manpower and equipment; apply scientific and rigorous construction solutions; develop a "3 shifts, 4 teams" construction plan, with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and rain," accelerating progress while ensuring absolute safety and quality of the project.
At the same time, the People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune is tasked with closely coordinating with relevant units to effectively carry out land clearance, disseminate information, and mobilize public support and consensus; and ensure security and order.
We request that the 4th Military Region Command and the 12th Army Corps continue to pay attention to and support the local authorities with personnel, equipment, and necessary conditions to help construct infrastructure and repair houses for affected residents.





On November 16th and 17th, Quang Tri experienced prolonged heavy rainfall, causing landslides that resulted in the partial collapse of a house at 74 Hung Vuong Street, Hamlet 3A, Khe Sanh Commune, and more than 10 neighboring houses in the area.
Specifically, the landslide area extends for approximately 170 meters, with a slope depth of 15 meters and a width of 30 meters, covering a total area of over 5,000 square meters, and is currently showing signs of further landslides. The People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune has been forced to urgently evacuate 10 households with 45 people at risk.
Subsequently, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee decided to declare a state of emergency due to a natural disaster caused by landslides in the Hung Vuong road area in Hamlet 3A, Khe Sanh commune.
