While the US has yet to comment on the bunker bombing, the Iranian foreign minister's accusation came after the Israeli military carried out an unprecedented attack on the south of the capital Beirut on September 27, causing casualties and destroying a row of buildings, according to Al Jazeera.
Israel launched two airstrikes on September 27, aiming to kill Hezbollah leaders.
A source familiar with the matter said the first airstrike targeted Hezbollah’s headquarters there, causing numerous casualties. Initial reports said six people were killed and 91 wounded. Six buildings were leveled.
Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari also confirmed the airstrike aimed to destroy Hezbollah's "headquarters" in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital.
Israel continues to attack Lebanon, not wanting to cease fire
A source close to Hezbollah revealed that Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, head of Hezbollah in Lebanon, is safe.
The attack came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
The Times of Israel reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu was attending a press conference when his military aide, Major General Roman Gofman, whispered in his ear.
The press conference ended quickly after a few minutes and Mr. Netanyahu hurriedly left. The Israeli Prime Minister's office later released a photo of him in a hotel room in New York City (New York state, USA), directing the attack on Hezbollah headquarters.
The Israeli military then carried out a second airstrike in southern Lebanon, claiming to have killed Hezbollah missile unit commander Muhammad Ali Ismail and his deputy Hossein Ahmed Ismail, according to Reuters. Hezbollah has not commented on the claim.
Israel is still attacking.
