Happy meals ensure nutrition, increase production efficiency

Tran Hiep Thanh Textile Joint Stock Company (the company) in Trang Bang Industrial Park, An Tinh Ward, Tay Ninh Province currently has more than 1,000 union members and workers. In recent times, the company has identified taking care of employee welfare as a motivation to retain them for a long time, especially ensuring the quality of meals.

Therefore, the grassroots trade union proposed that the company should provide each meal for employees with a value of 35,000 VND. The company organizes the cooking and provision of meals to ensure food safety and hygiene as well as adequate nutrition. According to the Chairman of the company's trade union, Nguyen Qui Hoang, in the past, on holidays and Tet, the meals for employees would be increased compared to normal days. Gradually, from the positive effects of those meals, the trade union proposed that the company implement the Happy Meal program once a quarter from 2021. Then in 2024, Happy Meals have been maintained monthly until now, with each meal costing from 50,000 to 75,000 VND and the menu is carefully planned and calculated to contribute to significantly improving the nutritional content.

"Happy Meals are organized monthly by the Union and the company for employees with the spirit of providing more sumptuous and nutritious meals. And those meals create conditions for everyone to eat and chat, creating more connection. We focus on the nutritional value of each meal and always make improvements, so the quality of meals is guaranteed and improved every year" - Mr. Hoang shared.

Mr. Hoang said that compared to a regular meal, the value of a meal from the Happy Meal program will double. It is estimated that each year, the additional cost to organize these meals is about 500 million VND. "But in return, employees feel happier and more satisfied with the welfare system, so they will contribute more to their work and the company," said Mr. Hoang.

Ms. Tran Thanh Van - an office staff of the company, said: "Since the company implemented the Happy Meal program, we have been able to eat better and, importantly, have more space to comfortably chat together. Therefore, every time there is an announcement that the company is organizing a Happy Meal, everyone is excited and looking forward to it." Good welfare regime helps union members and workers feel secure at work

Mr. Thach Huynh Anh and his wife have worked at the company for many years, with an income that ensures the life of the whole family. According to Mr. Huynh Anh, the good welfare policies from the company have helped retain him, including the diet, especially the Happy Meal that is held every month. "With a good diet, employees like us can ensure our health to work more effectively" - Mr. Huynh Anh happily said.

During the Union Meal program at the company at the end of July, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation Duong Dai Loc highly appreciated this operating model of the company. The happy meal shows the concern and sharing of the enterprise with the employees, creating excitement for the union and employees so that they can participate in good production.

In addition to ensuring nutritious meals, other benefits for employees are actively implemented by the company and the Union. The Union dialogues, negotiates with the enterprise and signs collective labor agreements with many provisions more beneficial to employees such as lucky money in the new year, gifts on employees' birthdays, holidays and Tet. Every year, the Union coordinates with the company to conduct a survey on the level of engagement and quality of benefits of the company's employees, improving according to the suggestions and recommendations of employees. The company and the Union also regularly organize gift giving programs for employees on holidays and Tet during the year.

In 2024, the Company's Trade Union will coordinate with the Human Resources Department and the Company's Board of Directors to develop and issue a policy to reward employees for their work performance (KPIS). Accordingly, every quarter and every year, employees in the company will be considered for KPI rewards if they meet the requirements./.
