From an area of land used for growing ineffective crops, in mid-2019, Mr. Le The Huy, in Chanh Thuan village, My Trinh commune, Phu My district (Binh Dinh province), switched to building a cement pond to raise eels.

Raising eels in a cement pond has helped Mr. Le The Huy, Chanh Thuan village, My Trinh commune, Phu My district (Binh Dinh province) earn hundreds of millions of dong each year.

Mr. Huy invested hundreds of millions of dong to build 20 cement ponds, water pump systems, and plastic pipes as shelters for eels.

In this specialty fish tank, Mr. Le The Huy also installed trays for fish to breathe oxygen and a wastewater treatment system. Of which, 6 cement tanks (area 36 m2 /tank) are used to raise commercial eels, while the remaining smaller tanks are used to raise eel fry.

Initially, due to lack of knowledge about eel farming and high price of eel seeds, fear of disease during the farming process, Mr. Huy went to Phu Yen province to find reputable eel seed facilities.

In Phu Yen province, Mr. Le Van Huy bought 1,000 quality eel fry to raise. After more than 3 months of raising, the eels grew and developed well, with a survival rate of nearly 100%.
