(Dan Tri) - Ca Mau plans to spend more than 942 billion VND to implement the project of organizing 2 sessions/day and boarding for public preschool and primary schools.

On October 10, according to a source from Dan Tri reporter, the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ca Mau province has a project to organize 2 sessions/day, boarding for public preschool and primary schools in the area.

According to statistics, the whole province has 196 kindergartens, 324 primary schools, 174 junior high schools, 52 high schools, with about 383,000 students.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, the education sector is promoting digital transformation, integrated teaching, comprehensive education, organizing 2 sessions/day and boarding is a necessary foundation to help students access the new program fully, in depth and develop their capacity comprehensively.

Along with that, the social and parents' demand for boarding is increasing, especially in densely populated areas and areas with difficult transportation, who really want their children to stay at school, ensuring safety, convenient pick-up and drop-off, and reducing the burden of care.

The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province determined that the development and implementation of the project is necessary, in line with the province's educational development orientation and the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation in the new situation.

To implement the project, the province must invest in building 490 additional classrooms, bedrooms, 212 kitchens and storage rooms for preschool and primary schools; and build 981 additional classrooms for secondary and high schools. At the same time, purchase equipment to serve all levels of education.

The province also needs to recruit about 800 preschool teachers and staff; more than 1,170 primary school teachers and staff; and more than 900 secondary and high school teachers.

According to the estimate of Ca Mau province, the total cost to implement the project is more than 942.6 billion VND.

The goal of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province is that by the 2026-2027 school year, 100% of preschools will teach 2 sessions/day and organize boarding. By the 2026-2027 school year, 100% of primary schools will teach 2 sessions/day and by 2028-2029, the same will be true for middle and high schools.

The People's Committee of Ca Mau province has assigned the Director of the Department of Education and Training to take full responsibility if there are cases of lax management, slow implementation progress, waste, negativity, corruption, and taking advantage of the project for personal gain or group interests.
