On the morning of April 5th, the Executive Committee of the Vung Tau City Party Committee, 7th term, 2020-2025, held its 30th (expanded) conference to assess the implementation of socio -economic, national defense and security, and Party building tasks in the first quarter of 2024.

In the first quarter of 2024, the socio-economic indicators of Vung Tau City continued to grow compared to the same period in 2023. The value of industrial production was estimated at VND 10,093 billion, an increase of 7.52% compared to the same period. Total retail sales of goods were estimated at VND 10,717 billion, an increase of 3.26% compared to the same period.

The number of visitors to the city for sightseeing and relaxation increased significantly, with approximately 685,000 overnight stays, a 19.96% increase compared to the same period last year. Total budget revenue is estimated at over 1,373 billion VND, reaching 31.3% of the provincial budget target.

Regarding the implementation of social welfare policies, the city allocated 49.8 billion VND from the budget to take care of people during Tet (Lunar New Year). Administrative reform continued to be promoted. In the first quarter, the city received more than 10,000 administrative procedure applications, with a timely resolution rate of 99.5%.

Some key solutions and tasks for socio-economic development in the second quarter of 2024 for the city include: focusing on attracting investment, organizing large-scale cultural and economic events to stimulate tourism ; strengthening state management of business, trade, service, and tourism activities; paying attention to inspecting, controlling, and managing the operations of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, homestay accommodations, and food and beverage establishments… Units and localities should concentrate efforts on cleaning beaches and public recreational areas to serve residents and tourists during the April 30th, May 1st, and Hung Kings' Commemoration Day holidays.

In addition, Vung Tau City is also focusing on effectively implementing compensation and land clearance work and resolving difficulties and obstacles of important projects, especially key projects of the province such as: the road connecting to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, dredging the Ben Dinh canal, upgrading and expanding provincial road 994, the City Police Headquarters, Rach Dua Kindergarten, technical infrastructure of Phuoc Thang small-scale industrial zone.../.
