What do the actors of 'Beauty and the beast' say before its premiere in Vietnam?

Being a typical British art form, bringing panto Beauty and the Beast to Vietnamese audiences was not an easy journey. However, the crew and organizers have made every effort to reconcile these differences.

Paul Winterford, producer of the upcoming panto in Vietnam, said: "In the play, the actors will ask the audience simple questions and the audience will have the right to respond to those questions freely, thereby creating interesting situations. This is exactly what we want to bring to Vietnam."

However, he also admitted that this is not easy. Winterford shared: "Wordplay, colloquialisms and details of life familiar to British audiences are the characteristics of this genre. And clearly that does not work in Vietnam. So we will have more physical interactions to be closer to the audience, thereby understanding the story and helping everyone contribute to the story."

The actors are confident and ready for opening night.

Taking on a character with a unique personality, actor Lloyd Warbey also added to the differences between the original Beauty and the Beast story and the panto re-enactment. He shared: "There won't be many differences, but instead of finding the magic in the pages of the book, the characters and the plot will come alive on stage with unexpected, unpredictable moments."

Meanwhile, male artist Michael Auger - winner of Britain's Got Talent and member of Collabro, the world's most successful musical group - also said he is very confident about the upcoming performance. With many years of experience on stage, it can be said that Gaston will be the most lovable villain that the audience can imagine with charming acting, top-notch choreography and "superb" appearance.

Director Paul Winterford (right cover, standing) shared that "interaction in the work is what we really want to bring to Vietnam"

Actress Charlotte Castle - who plays Princess Belle - also revealed the most interesting moment during her rehearsals. She said that she remembered the scene when everyone stood on stage and played the game "What would we do if we didn't perform the pantomime?". At that time, many unexpected and unpredictable answers were given.

In addition, before the official opening of the show, the crew and cast also met with many children. With their delicate body language and top-notch acting skills, the artists turned the stage into a vivid fairy tale. Here, the crisp laughter, wide-eyed surprise and endless applause were the clearest evidence of the "irresistible" appeal of this special art form. On stage, the actors were full of confidence and ready for the opening night.

It can be said that the preparation for the upcoming play has been planned and comprehensively implemented by both the actors and the production crew, not beyond the desire to introduce to the domestic audience a traditional British art form during the Christmas season and the end of the year with valuable messages.
