Young people under 50 years old, if they have signs of insomnia, will have a high risk of stroke.

The results found that the more signs of insomnia a person had, the higher the risk of stroke, especially in people under 50 years old.

Specifically, people with 5 to 8 signs of insomnia have a 51% increased risk of stroke.

And people with 1 to 4 signs of insomnia have a 16% higher risk of stroke.

Signs of insomnia to watch out for

According to the Mayo Clinic (USA), symptoms of insomnia include:

  • trouble sleeping
  • Wake up in the middle of the night
