Universities may start new school year after September 6

On May 14, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of HigherEducation , Ministry of Education and Training, said the next important milestones in university admissions that candidates taking the 2023 high school graduation exam should pay attention to.

Accordingly, the admission points (high schools) continue to edit (if there are any errors), check and cross-check information for candidates who have registered for high school graduation (including information on regional and subject priorities). This will be completed no later than May 25. Candidates submit their applications for direct admission and priority admission (according to regulations) to the university before 5:00 p.m. on June 30. Candidates who have been admitted directly confirm their admission on the system (candidates who have confirmed their admission will not be allowed to continue registering for admission), this will take place from July 5 to August 15. Candidates who need early admission need to submit their application and evidence at the training institution for consideration. Candidates applying for majors that use aptitude scores, preliminary scores, competency assessment scores, and foreign language certificates will be carried out according to the specific time specified by the training institution.

Candidates can practice registering and adjusting their admission wishes on the system from July 3 to July 6. From June 15 to July 20, candidates who have graduated from high school or college but do not have an account to register for admission on the system can submit a Personal Information Registration Form and submit it at the reception point (according to the regulations of the Department of Education and Training) to be granted an account on the general admission support system. From July 10 to July 30, candidates can officially register and adjust their admission wishes to university on the general system of the Ministry of Education and Training (unlimited number of times) within the prescribed time (including candidates who are admitted early and have been announced as conditionally admitted, they must continue to register their admission wishes on the system).

Also according to the enrollment plan, candidates pay the online enrollment fee from July 31 to August 6. Schools will notify successful candidates (first round) no later than 5 p.m. on August 22. Candidates will confirm their online enrollment (first round) on the system before 5 p.m. on September 6. After September 6, schools can start the new school year. Schools will consider additional enrollment rounds (if any) until the end of 2023.

According to Ms. Thuy, with direct admission, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, after confirming admission, candidates do not need to register their next admission wishes on the common system. As for candidates who are "admitted early" according to the early admission schedule of the training institution (they can be "admitted" to many schools, the schools announce that they are admitted, but still need to wait for the high school graduation results), they still have to register their wishes on the common system, arranged in order of priority from 1 to the end. "That means they still have the opportunity to apply to other majors, other methods that they like better; and if they like a school the most and have been admitted early, candidates only need to put that as their first wish to be sure to be admitted", Ms. Thuy further explained.
