OpenAI's applications have repeatedly encountered serious technical problems that have disrupted operations.

From November 6-8, 2023, a series of OpenAI products, including the ChatGPT chatbot, the application programming interface (API), the Dall-E image generation service... continuously experienced technical problems, causing widespread disruptions.

On November 8, ChatGPT users encountered error messages like “Something seems to have gone wrong” and “There was an error generating a response” when attempting to interact. Additionally, the ChatGPT interface displayed a warning about “unusually high demand,” asking users to wait while OpenAI scaled up its system.

On November 7, a technical issue also affected the API and ChatGPT, causing intermittent downtime for several hours. On November 6, users of OpenAI's Dall-E image generation service also experienced increased error rates.

In response to the technical issue, OpenAI published an incident report on its official status page, stating that its engineering department is investigating the cause of the issue.

“We have identified an issue causing high error rates in the API and ChatGPT and are working to resolve this,” a company representative said.

By early morning on November 9, OpenAI reported that the affected services had been restored. "We discovered a bug affecting all services, identified the issue and took action to fix it. Our services are now operating normally," the company said.

Previously, in February 2023 and May 2023, ChatGPT chatbot also encountered problems that led to service unavailability, forcing it to stop operating globally.
