Dismissed principal for fixing grades for ward official's child

The latest information Tien Phong reporter received from the People's Committee of Ha Lam ward, this agency after receiving a complaint and recommendation related to a number of violations at Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School, including the content of correcting students' scores, changing the students' academic performance assessment at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

The principal was dismissed for altering the academic records of the ward official's children.

The Ward People's Committee has established an Inspection Team to verify the content of the petition. Based on the verification report, Ha Lam Ward has carried out the steps to review and discipline officials, civil servants and public employees who have violated the regulations, ensuring strictness, objectivity, publicity and transparency.

After inspection and verification, the Ward People's Committee disciplined 9 officials, civil servants and public employees. Of which, 1 case was dismissed (Principal of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School), 05 cases were warned, 03 were reprimanded.

"We worked urgently upon receiving the complaint. This is a heartbreaking incident but it must be handled seriously to set an example for many others. This is the fault of adults, so we also focus on providing psychological support so that students are not harmed in the school environment," said a representative of the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward.

As Tien Phong reported, the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward received information about a leader of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School being accused of editing the scores on the electronic transcript for the child of a ward official.

According to the complaint, the student's scores were said to have been adjusted from "weak" to "excellent" in many subjects, including Math, Natural Sciences , Information Technology and English.

The content of the complaint mentioned that in the 2024-2025 school year, after the administrative unit arrangement and implementation of the 2-level government model, Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School was merged, the board of directors was completed, and the accused person is currently holding the position of principal.

It is known that currently in Quang Ninh , the management of secondary schools has been decentralized to wards and communes. Teaching and assessment currently use electronic transcripts. All data entry and editing operations on the software leave a log, so verification will rely on system traces to clarify the responsibilities of related individuals.
