With the focus on the power of AI, for the first time, CAEXPO and CABIS have a separate exhibition area for AI and APP "AI Expo", and it is also the first time to hold a ministerial conference on AI between ASEAN and China.
AI has become a new driving force for economic and trade cooperation in the region. From exhibition areas to forums, from agendas to trade negotiations, AI has become an attractive topic that has received the most attention and contributed to transforming the traditional model of CAEXPO and CABIS into a fair-conference applying digital technology and AI.
At the opening ceremony of this year's CAEXPO and CABIS, when speakers speak, each sentence will be simultaneously translated and converted into subtitles in seven languages: Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Thai, Myanmar, Malay and Indonesian to appear immediately on the big screen, convenient for delegates from various countries to follow.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also introduced for the first time the APP "AI Exhibition Fair" with 17 applications including automatic consulting-answering, scheduling, business connection, booth introduction, information lookup..., supporting eight languages of ASEAN countries including Vietnamese.
In particular, the "smart pairing" function helps connect buyers and sellers based on each party's business needs right at the fair, creating convenience for expanding trade connections and finding cooperation and business opportunities.
The AI exhibition area with an area of 10,000m2 , attracted nearly 200 leading enterprises and AI innovation groups to participate in the exhibition, including many large Chinese technology corporations such as Huawei, Alibaba Cloud... displaying many new products such as MateBook Pro laptop, large language model Qwen3, humanoid robot, four-legged robot, AR virtual reality glasses... Here, visitors have the opportunity to experience many robot + AI services such as playing chess with robots, enjoying coffee made by robots according to personal taste, health check robots...
Meanwhile, many ASEAN countries also sent relevant units to participate in this AI exhibition area for the first time, such as the Malaysian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), the Indonesian Association of Telecommunications Technology (MASTEL), and the Brunei Innovation Testing Office, introducing AI applications in the fields of healthcare , green energy, and digital economy 4.0.
In addition, within the framework of this year's CAEXPO, the ASEAN-China AI Ministerial Conference was also held for the first time, attracting great attention from the community, as this event will contribute to expanding ASEAN-China cooperation from traditional economic and trade to digital cooperation and AI application.
Currently, ASEAN countries are entering an important stage of digital transformation, so the need for digital technology development is very large. Meanwhile, with the advantage of being an open gateway for cooperation between China and ASEAN, Guangxi plays an increasingly important role in promoting AI cooperation between the two sides.
Based on the implementation of the new innovative model of "AI researched and developed in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, concentrated in Guangxi and applied in ASEAN", Guangxi will be the gateway for exporting AI technology applications to ASEAN countries.
In an interview with a reporter from the People's Daily in China about the results of cooperation between Nanning in particular and Guangxi in general with ASEAN in the field of AI, Mr. Song Wei, Deputy Director of the Nanning City Foreign Affairs Office, said that in May this year, Nanning sent a list of needs for developing AI applications in the fields of smart cities, smart agriculture, smart industry, smart healthcare, smart education, digital culture and tourism to ASEAN and received positive feedback. To date, 10 ASEAN countries and Japan, Mexico, and Poland have participated in 80 projects. Of which, Hai Phong city and a number of Vietnamese universities and enterprises have participated in 10 projects in the fields of education, healthcare, and trade.
AI is restructuring global industry chains, supply chains and value chains at an unprecedented speed, while also opening up a vast new space for ASEAN and China to strengthen economic and trade cooperation.
