30,000 billion VND needed each year for universal health check-ups

(QNgTV)- According to the Ministry of Health's calculations, to ensure the roadmap for implementing free periodic health check-ups once a year for people, starting from 2026 in the spirit of Resolution 72, the total budget needed is about 30,000 billion VND per year.

The Ministry of Health said it will invest synchronously in human resources, facilities and equipment for commune health stations to ensure primary health care for the people. It is expected that the project is being built to submit to the Government a list of necessary examinations and tests with the optimal cost for health examinations for each person of about 300,000 VND/person/year. And the balance will be calculated based on the payment source from the Health Insurance Fund.

The health sector believes that the spirit of Resolution 72 focuses from "treatment" to "prevention", and grassroots health care is considered the foundation of this issue. Therefore, in the period of 2025-2030, each year localities will rotate at least 1,000 doctors to commune health stations, supplementing regular doctors so that by 2027 each station will have 4-5 doctors and by 2030, it will meet the assigned functions and tasks.
